What are hormones?

In simple terms they are chemicals produced by the body that send messages from one part to another regulating our growth and development, metabolism, body temperature, stress levels and moods.  They have a huge impact on our overall wellbeing and play a crucial role in how we feel each day, so it’s incredibly important to keep them balanced and allow them to do their job. There are a number of lifestyle factors that can upset the balance such as poor diet, stress and too much or too little exercise. This can lead to a number of health issues including:

  • PMS and severe period pain
  • Menopausal symptoms including hot flushes and insomnia
  • Skin problems
  • Infertility
  • Disrupted sleep
